The volume of a house that is located in a hot and humid weather should not only obey a matter of aesthetics, the design must be aimed at resolving the ventilation, to create shadows and controlling light and heat access.
Color is also essential: shades closest to white, and strategically oriented openings help reduce the heat load in the interior spaces.
